The accord of iris, vanilla and amber that is present in allLoris Azzaro fragrances, blossoms out of the heart, adding an oriental element. At one point, I think of a carved sandalwood box used to store vanilla and lemon bon bons. The drydown reveals the base notes of sandalwood and musk in their full splendour. Little by little, the floral elements fade, leaving their subtle imprint upon the wooded relief of the base. The finished composition has a luminous quality that calls to mind a dance of candlelight upon dark polished wood.

Despite the fact that I have been reaching for my bottle often, especially whenever I crave something delicious, but not obviously gourmand, I feel ambivalence about Loris Azzaro . While it is well-crafted, nicely harmonizing the sparkling fruity-floral top with the warm woody base and possessing a rounded and soft form, I cannot help but feel that this composition was a safe choice for Loris Azzaro, as it does not offer any particularly daring touches or unusual twists. It would not challenge, remaining lovely and pleasant. And granted, sometimes this is all that is needed.

I have tried this fragrance several times, and whilst I am invariably amazed by its complexity and permutations throughout the day, I find that it is not likely to become a part of my repertoire. The top notes are Loris Azzaro --creamy rose and violet intertwined with soft lilac conjure visions of a lush floral bouquet. The Loris Azzaro into the woodsy heart which included the earthy note of vetiver and rich sandalwood. Iris lends its metallic note which I invariably find irresistible. However, soon warm and resinous cedar becomes rather pronounced. Furthermore, the fragrance becomes more powdery in the drydown as amber asserts its presence.

The Loris Azzaro is the sharpest version, while the Loris Azzaro and the perfume are much softer and subtler. The Loris Azzaro in particular is quite lovely as all the notes are executed well and are in perfect harmony with each other. Since the Loris Azzaro can be difficult to find, I think that the scents is a great alternative.
