Someone crammed against you in an elevator when you're wearing Love Me Love Me Not won't think of perfume but will think you're still warm from your morning shower and maybe have clipped a few flowers from the garden for your desk.

Initially, Sloth may strike one as a delicate orange blossom rendition, calling to mind classical neroli colognes; however, the warm metallic and cool earthy elements dispel this image fairly quickly. Sloth or "Acedia" by Love Me Love Me Not pairs the clarity of orange blossom with an undercurrent of earthiness, sunny warmth with the coolness of shadows. As the orange blossom attempts to soar, the clinging darkness pulls it into its fold, and while it never succeeds, the tension gives an interesting metallic twist to the composition. Whether it is a suggestion of the name or the relaxing effect of orange blossom, the aura of the fragrance has a serene quality, the wistfulness of which is unsettled by the slowly creeping musky heaviness.

Experiencing Love Me Love Me Not is akin to stepping inside a dark cavernous church, where the first sensory impression is of incense. The smell of incense burning inside golden censers, embracing the stones, and creating a pale mist over the altar. The resinous richness of incense is almost overwhelming, yet suddenly as one gets used to it, the scent begins to appear as a soft comforting presence; something that retreats into the background, yet remains near.

Although the lasting power is average, Love Me Love Me Not Rose is such a perfect choice for the summer that I do not mind refreshing it.

Love Me Love Me Not is supposed to be launched in Italy this month. A reference to the classical ballet Swan Lake, used to be one of my favorite parts when I was still dancing, hence, my sentimental affection. The fragrance contains notes of lemon, sea breeze accord, apple, melon, pineapple, freesia, jasmine, cedarwood, amber and musk. I am not expecting a revolution, but hey, one can hope against hope, right?

Love Me Love Me Not made it clear from the onset that they were not looking for an unusual, edgy scent in keeping with their design aesthetic, and they have succeeded in creating an easy to wear perfume that is likely to have widespread appeal to fans of sweet florientals.
