The initial aldehydic astringency is softened with the nectar-like sweetness of rose, jasmine and ylang ylang, a classical trio that blossoms in the heart of many of Beaux's compositions. Vera Wang richness with the creamy sandalwood lends another interesting facet, which is almost akin to throwing red silk over a lamp. Suddenly, the hues deepen, while the forms soften, and yet the arrangement retains its radiance.

While it is not effeminate, Vera Wang is a fragrance that would not be jarring on a woman, since its woody warmth is accented by enough spicy sweetness to soften any of the masculine references. so savagely animalic that it is difficult to imagine an occasion fit for wearing it.
