A swirl of iced flower petals falls gently into the creaminess of the luxurious musky base, adding a soft touch to the chilly outlines of the composition. Like falling snow blurs the lines of the landscape, the elegant powdery quality of the drydown lends a warm, hazy effect. While Wonderfleur is constructed out of the olfactory opposites, cold and warm, the effect is delicate and graceful like the dance of snowflakes in the air.

Wonderfleur is certainly luxurious, which I suppose is the whole point, underscored by the heavy expensive packaging. However, unless one has more tolerance for warm, powdery sweetness than I do, the result might beg a sip of water, or rather a more transparent floral heart to balance out the base.

Wonderfleur, is an austere and dry chocolate note, lacking the honeyed, melting sweetness that one might expect from it. Yet, its minimalist and paired down form is striking and distinctive, reminiscent as much of charred wood as it is of mouthwatering desserts.

The perfume is undoubtedly my preferred formulation of Wonderfleur Unlike the sharper, it possesses an almost tactile butteriness which never fails to evoke a sensation of brushing one's finger against the softest of leathers. The classical structure of the fragrance offers such a smooth progression that it is almost impossible to identify where one accord ends and the other begins. As an example of strikingly elegant and sumptuous leather, Wonderfleur is among the classical gems.
